Westland Garryana 2019 Edition 4|1 belongs to the distillery's Native Oak Series, which explores Quercus garryana, the Garry oak native to the Pacific Northwest. This American single malt is a blend of spirit from ex-rye barrels (29%), ex-bourbon barrels (29%), new Garry oak casks (19%), Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads (16%) and refill Garry oak barrels (7%), matured for between 44 and 75 months.
It was bottled at 50% ABV, with 3,750 bottles released.
The nose brings figgy pudding, pear custard, crisp apple, cocoa and a hint of peppermint. On the palate are milk chocolate, honey, blueberries and peppermint over earthy oak, followed by a long, warming finish of dark fruit and gentle spice.
