Westland – Garryana 5th Edition (70cl, 50%)

Westland Garryana 5th Edition is an American single malt from the Seattle distillery, an annual release that came out in 2020. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit is peated. 36% of it matured in virgin Quercus garryana, a native oak of the Pacific Northwest, and the remainder in first-fill ex-bourbon casks of Quercus alba, American white oak. The edition is part of the Outpost Range, whiskeys that put one central raw ingredient in single malt production first, with an emphasis on terroir. Here that ingredient is the wood.
