Westland Sherry Wood American Single Malt Whiskey

Westland Sherry Wood is an American single malt from Westland Distillery in Seattle. The barley bill is made up of five malts, and the spirit is fermented with Belgian brewer's yeast. It is aged in ex-Oloroso and ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks alongside new American oak barrels. The nose brings dried apricot, brown sugar, custard, vanilla and chamomile tea, with stone fruit and a thread of smoke. On the palate are chocolate-covered cherries, roasted coffee beans and cocoa nibs, with black liquorice and fresh anise. The finish is medium-short and drying, with dusty cocoa and fruit leather over a gentle sweetness.
