This is a 15 year old Dailuaine, a Speyside single malt matured fully in a first fill Manzanilla sherry cask and bottled at natural strength of 55.5% in a 70cl bottle.
The malty, weighty character of Dailuaine is met by the dry, saline edge of the Manzanilla cask.
The nose offers baked apple, honeyed malt and toasted nuts, with hints of sea breeze, chamomile and dry sherry. The palate is bold and textured, with stewed orchard fruit, caramelised sugar, almond, white pepper and a savoury note. The finish is long, warming and gently saline, with fruit, spice and nutty dryness.
