A German single-distillery whisky from Ralf Hauer, made from peated malt and bottled as Edition 73A by Whisky Sponge. It was distilled in 2014 and matured for eight years in first-fill bourbon barrels in Germany.
The strength was reduced by a few degrees to 57.1%, so that the character of the spirit comes through clearly. It is a peated whisky with a Scottish accent, in a 70cl bottle.
It is described as rugged and pure, with breads, spices and smoky, salty notes alongside the peat.
