White Peak Virgin Oak Finish is an English single malt, bottled at 51.7% in a 70cl bottle. It is a vatting of lightly peated whisky, first matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. The whisky then spent several months at a lower strength in virgin American oak barrels, with a range of toast and char levels. White Peak takes its yeast from a nearby brewery. The nose brings leather, caramelised brown sugar, bonfire toffee, cinnamon buns and orchard fruit. On the palate come milk chocolate, peppercorn, prune, citrus zest and orange marmalade, followed by a smoky-sweet finish with clove.
