White Peak Wire Works Port Wine LBV is an English single malt from White Peak Distillery, made from the distillery's lightly peated malt. It matured first in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then was finished in Late Bottled Vintage Port barriques. Bottled at 53.3% ABV in a 700ml bottle, it is natural colour and not chill-filtered, with an outturn of 1,293 bottles.
The nose offers cinnamon swirl, peaches and apricot, orange marmalade, star anise, ginger nut biscuits, marzipan, white chocolate and Demerara sugar. The palate brings jelly babies, candied almonds, raspberry and blackcurrant jam, vanilla fudge, grapefruit zest and Bakewell tart. The finish has candied orange peel, eucalyptus, treacle tart and the faintest hint of peat.
