Widow Jane – Lucky Thirteen Bourbon (75cl, 46.5%)

Widow Jane Lucky Thirteen is a bourbon aged for a minimum of thirteen years in a rick house in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It is bottled in very small batches of little more than a handful of barrels, non-chill filtered at 46.5% and proofed with limestone mineral water from the Rosendale Mines of New York. Varying temperatures and humidity, along with the different positions within the rick house, lead to subtle differences in flavour from barrel to barrel. The nose brings vanilla bean, Earl Grey tea, caramel and sweet tobacco. On the palate come pecan pie, whole grain toast and grapefruit peel.
