This is a rye whiskey from Widow Jane, aged with oak and fresh-cut applewood staves. It starts from the same rye distillate as the Widow Jane Oak Rye, which is aged in a once-used 10-year-old bourbon barrel.
Adding applewood alongside the oak was meant to take the rye in a new direction, towards a soothing and fruity style compared with traditional ryes.
