Wild Turkey – 101 Bourbon (75cl, 50.5%)

Wild Turkey 101 is a Kentucky bourbon aged for at least 6 years, bottled at 50.5% ABV (101 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It comes out of the barrel at 109 proof and is diluted only slightly. Wild Turkey barrels its whiskey at a lower entry proof, which gives more flavour from the mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley. The nose is fairly subdued, with toffee sweetness, toasty oak, melted vanilla ice cream, citrus and butterscotch. The palate is full and rich, with cigar box sweetness, pepper, caramel and honey on granary toast. The finish is long and rich, with spice and toast.
