Wild Turkey Rare Breed is a Kentucky bourbon bottled at barrel proof, 58.4% ABV, without being cut with water. It is a blend of 6, 8 and 12 year old small batch bourbons, in a 750ml bottle, with hints of orange, mint and sweet tobacco.
The nose is spicy, with raw grain, peppery seasoned wood and prominent rye spice. The palate opens with a big spicy hit of rye, pepper and a little oak before sweetness develops. The finish is long, nutty and warm, with spicy rye and oak giving way to cane sugar, lightly caramelised wood and vanilla.
