Wild Turkey 101 is an eight-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 50.5% ABV (101 proof). It is made at the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
The mashbill is 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley, distilled in a column still with a copper doubler. The spirit goes into deeply charred American oak barrels at an entry proof of 115, below the legal maximum of 125, and matures for eight years.
The nose brings caramel, candy corn, vanilla and lemon zest. On the palate, rye spice leads into brown sugar, cinnamon and oak, and the finish is long and warming, with rye spice and vanilla.
