A Wild Turkey 8 Year Old bourbon bottled at 101 proof in August 1994, with the bottling date of 8/10/94 stamped on the label. It was distilled and bottled at Camp Nelson Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, in the mid-1990s, during Jimmy Russell's time at the distillery. The mashbill is high in rye, and at 101 proof it gives the bold, spice-forward and richly oaked character associated with Wild Turkey. Caramel, rye spice and toasted oak lead the nose, with vanilla and leather. The palate is full, with butterscotch, dark fruit, cinnamon and assertive rye. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spice and oak.
