Wild Turkey Master's Keep Unforgotten is a blend of Kentucky straight bourbon and straight rye, bottled at 105 proof (52.5%) in a 750ml bottle. It is the eighth release in the Master's Keep series and follows Wild Turkey Forgiven, which began in 2010 as an accidental mingling of young rye and mature bourbon.
This time Eddie Russell blended 13-year-old bourbon with rye aged 8 and 9 years, then finished the whole blend in used rye casks in Rickhouse B.
The nose is fruit-forward, with caramel, honey, lemon curd, stewed pear and caraway. The palate brings dried fig, dried apricot, sweet oak and gingerbread. The finish is long, with black pepper, toasted oak, nutmeg and cinnamon.
