This is a 13 year old single barrel straight rye from Willett Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, bottled from barrel #2491 at 62.6% ABV (125.2 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The label carries a 'Willett 90 Years' marking, commemorating the Willett family's 90th anniversary in the spirits business.
It is non-chill filtered, hand-bottled and hand-labelled by Sherri Willett.
The nose combines dark caramel, deep spice, toasted oak, dried cherry, vanilla, leather and a little mint. On the palate come cinnamon, pepper, toffee, charred barrel and dark fruit, with an oily texture. The finish is very long and warming, with lasting rye spice and sweet barrel notes.
