The nose is caramel, fresh grain, citrus, toasted oak, vanilla and warm baking spice. The palate is bold and concentrated, with corn sweetness, brown sugar, rye pepper and charred barrel, and a good deal of heat that eases with time in the glass or a little water. The finish is long and warming, with spice, sweet oak and barrel warmth.
