Williamson is named after Bessie Williamson, who shaped a celebrated distillery on the south coast of Islay. This single malt was distilled in 2010 and matured for 15 years in an American standard barrel.
Berry Bros. & Rudd chose it for its series The Auld & The Bold. It is a single cask bottling of 190 bottles.
The nose is led by camphor and iodine, with seaweed, citrus peel and a veil of charcoal. The palate is savoury, with smoked meat and salty olives over a chalky, mineral structure. The finish is long and dry, with a soft vanilla note set against the minerality.
