Wire Works Coastal Smoke is an English whisky made from lightly peated spirit, distilled with two sets of cut points. It was first matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill, then finished in Islay whisky barrels. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings baked vanilla cheesecake, lemon meringue, campfire ash and candied ginger, with smoked meats alongside. On the palate come Jaffa cakes, banana, fresh mango and papaya, and peppermint. The finish runs to malted biscuits, sage, lavender and soft, lingering peat.
