This is a lightly peated English single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, released as Batch 07/2022 under the Wire Works name. It is bottled at 57.2% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured first in first-fill Bourbon barrels and then received a finish in rum casks. It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered.
The rum casks bring tropical notes of ripe banana, dark sugar and buttery caramel, layered over vanilla oak and warm baking spices, with a delicate, lingering thread of peat smoke.
