This is Wolfburn 10 Year Old, Release 416 of the Small Batch Series and the first in that series to carry an age statement. It matured entirely in first-fill ruby port pipes, which the distillery obtained in the Douro Valley in 2016 and filled with its own spirit. It was released in April 2026 at 46% in a 70cl bottle, with 3,900 bottles filled. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The number 416 marks where the casks lay in the Thurso warehouses: warehouse 4, stow 16.
The nose is warm ruby port with a little sea salt, then raisins, dark cherries and sultanas. On the palate come caramel and vanilla, followed by deep port influence, dates and figs, with soft oak smoke. The finish is long and warming.
