Wolfburn Aurora Sherry Oak is a handcrafted three-year-old single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in refill American standard barrels (80%) and first-fill Oloroso sherry casks (20%), and first appeared in September 2016.
Wolfburn was newly built in 2011 at Thurso and is the most northerly distillery on the Scottish mainland.
The nose is fruity, with the sherry coming through clearly. The palate is fruity too, with sherry sweetness alongside nougat, malt, chocolate and nuts.
