Wolfburn – Cask Strength (70cl, 56.9%)

The core cask strength expression from Wolfburn, a Highland single malt first introduced in 2018 as Langskip and later renamed. It is bottled at 56.9% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and naturally coloured. The whisky is matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon quarter casks. The nose pairs fresh bourbon aromas with sweet sherry, toffee and caramel. On the palate, chocolate truffles, sticky toffee pudding and trifle sponge sit under gentle peat smoke. The finish is caramel sweetness with toffee and demerara sugar, and a trace of peat smoke lingers to the end.
