Wolfburn – Morven (70cl, 46%)

Wolfburn Morven is a lightly peated single malt from the Wolfburn distillery in Thurso, on the north coast of Scotland. It is bottled at 46% and comes in a 70cl bottle. It has been part of the range since 2017, and the distillery itself was newly built in 2011. No colouring is added, so the whisky looks a little pale in the glass. The nose brings baked apples, salted caramel, pine nuts, heather and peat. On the palate the peat stays in the background, while vanilla, baked apple, charred wood and pear come forward.
