Wolfburn Small Batch 177 is a limited-edition Highland single malt from Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, released in September 2023. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
It marries whisky matured for eight years in first-fill ex-bourbon hogsheads with whisky matured for seven years in first-fill Caribbean rum barrels.
The nose opens with sweet fruit and caramel, then plum, ginger and tropical notes with a little dried fruit and nuts. The palate is honeyed and fruity, with pineapple, coconut, caramel, oak and gentle spice. The finish is lingering, with tropical fruit, coconut and spice fading into soft sweetness.
