Writers' Tears Double Oak (70cl, 46%)

Writers' Tears Double Oak is an Irish whiskey that blends single pot still and single malt, made from malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled in copper pot stills. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whiskey is matured in two types of cask, American bourbon barrels and French cognac casks, and is non-chill filtered. The nose combines vanilla, fruit, toasted wood, apple and cinnamon. The palate is creamy and round, with honey, dried fruit, vanilla toffee and chocolate over light spice and toasted oak. The finish is long and gently warming, with apricot, almond and soft tannins.
