Writers' Tears Tequila Cask Finish (70cl, 47%)

Writers' Tears Tequila Cask Finish is an Irish single pot still whiskey from Walsh Whiskey, described as the first of its kind to be finished in tequila casks. It is bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle, neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The whiskey is made from malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in pot stills and matured in ex-bourbon casks. It then spends a further nine months in Añejo tequila casks. The nose is fresh agave and cut grass with vanilla, honey and stone fruit. On the palate come peach, apricot, pepper and baked apple. The finish is long and spiced, with agave and honey.
