Yamazaki 18 Year Old Mizunara Cask is a limited-edition Japanese whisky from the Yamazaki distillery, marking its 100th anniversary. The distillery was established in 1923 in Kyoto Prefecture and is known for its use of Mizunara oak, Japan's native oak.
This bottling is aged for 18 years and shows the influence of Mizunara casks, with a deep amber colour.
The nose is sandalwood, incense and dried coconut. The palate offers dark cherry, ripe plum and honeyed almonds, with cinnamon and clove. It is silky and full-bodied, and the finish carries Japanese cedar, sweet vanilla and a hint of smoke.
