Yamazaki Distillers Reserve is a Japanese single malt from the Yamazaki distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It combines whisky from sherry casks with some matured in mizunara, the Japanese oak.
The mizunara comes through as a complex, spicy note that is almost incense-like. Alongside it, the whisky is fresh and fruity, with red fruit and a touch of sherry cask.
