Yamazaki – Mizunara Cask 2017 Edition 18 Year Old (70cl)

The Yamazaki Mizunara Cask 2017 Edition is an 18 year old limited edition from Yamazaki, in a 700ml bottle. Yamazaki was built in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii and is Japan's oldest malt whisky distillery. The whisky is matured in Mizunara, a Japanese oak whose hard, permeable wood makes casks difficult to build. Only a few Yamazaki whiskies have matured in it. Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo tasted a few hundred Mizunara whiskies and chose from those aged 18 years and beyond, aiming to bring out what he calls the Art of Mizunara.
