Zedda Piras Mirto Bianco (70cl)

Zedda Piras Mirto Bianco is a Sardinian myrtle liqueur, made by the house founded in Cagliari in 1854 by Francesco Zedda. The name of the house joins his surname with that of his mother, Piras. Unlike the better-known red myrtle, it is made by macerating green leaves, shoots and sometimes unripe berries in pure alcohol. The leaves give up their chlorophyll, which lends the liqueur a greenish tint. The aromas recall sea scrub, aromatic herbs, honey and wild berries. It is soft and velvety, delicately sweet, with a bitterish finish where the wild notes return. It can be served well chilled or over a single ice cube.
