This is a peated Lowland single malt from the Glasgow Distillery, released as Batch 03 in a run of 1,000 bottles. It is unfiltered and bottled at a cask strength of 61% ABV. The malt first matured in virgin American white oak and then took its finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads. The result is a terracotta colour and a strongly smoky whisky with dark fruit running through it. The nose combines barbecue sauce and smoked Ibérico ham with poached plums and flamed orange zest. On the palate come dark chocolate, tobacco leaf and toasted oak, with sweet fruit from the sherry finish breaking through the smoke. The finish is long and spicy.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
