A single malt from Aber Falls, the distillery in North Wales that is the first whisky distillery there in over 100 years. It is the distillery's second single malt release, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV.
The whisky was matured in a mix of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, bourbon casks and virgin oak. The team works with local farmers who grow the Welsh barley it uses.
The nose is creamy malt with nuts, crystallised fruit, dates and prunes. On the palate, vanilla and toffee meet orange peel, sherried sultanas and dried fruit, followed by clove, coffee and dark chocolate. The finish stays creamy, with vanilla fudge, berries, cherries and fruit cake.
