Aberfeldy 12 Year Old Madeira Cask is a Highland single malt from the distillery on the banks of the River Tay, founded by the brothers Tommy and John Dewar in 1898. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured first in traditional oak casks and then received a finish in Madeira wine casks.
On the nose it shows dried apricots, raisins and pineapple, with a little honey and toasted almonds. The palate is soft, with dried fruit, toffee and light cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish brings honey, spice and a gentle Madeira sweetness.
