Aberfeldy 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt known as the Golden Dram, a nickname that nods to the distillery's water source, the Pitilie Burn, and its historic alluvial gold deposits. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky matured for twelve years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Its profile centres on heather honey, sweet fruit and subtle baking spices, with a warm golden amber colour.
The nose offers honey, ripe pear, green apple, vanilla and light citrus zest with a touch of fudge. The palate is creamy, with wildflower honey, sweet malt, spiced dried fruit and vanilla cream. The finish is medium to long, with honey, gentle spice and subtle oak.
