Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Sangiovese is a limited Highland single malt from the distillery's Wine Cask Series, bottled as Batch No. 2924/A at 46% ABV without chill-filtration. After 18 years of maturation, the whisky was finished in Sangiovese red wine casks from Valdarno di Sopra in Italy, chosen by the distillery's malt master. The finish adds dark fruit, spice and cocoa to the honeyed house style. Tasting notes describe cherries, dark plums, vanilla and cocoa on the nose, with toasted oak. The palate brings juicy fruit, candied orange peel, honeyed figs and cloves.
