This is a 21 year old Aberfeldy single malt from the Highlands. It matured for more than twenty years in refill barrels and refill hogsheads, then spent around eight months in Finca Ambrosia Malbec wine casks from the Gualtallary valley in Mendoza, Argentina. It is a limited edition.
The nose has ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum with heather honey, toasted oak and vanilla. The palate is rich and fruity, with dark berries, sweet malt, honey, cocoa powder and soft tannins. The finish is long and warm, with dark fruit, cocoa and honey.
