Aberlour 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in a 75cl bottle, matured in two types of cask. Traditional oak and seasoned sherry butts are used, and the spirit from each is combined.
The double cask maturation softens the crisp, citrus character of Aberlour's new distillate and gives a subtly balanced flavour. The whisky is golden amber with hints of ruby.
The nose is soft and rounded, with red apple. The palate has a sherried character, with fruit balanced by rich chocolate, and the finish is warm and lingering, sweet and spicy.
