This is a 16 year old Speyside single malt from Aberlour, sold in a 75cl bottle. It is double cask matured, spending its years in a combination of first fill Bourbon casks and Sherry butts.
The two cask types give warm, fruity character with a spicy sweetness running through it.
In the glass it is a warm golden amber. The nose is creamy, with sweet raisin and a spicy nuttiness. On the palate, floral and spicy flavours sit alongside sweet plum and gentle oak, leading to a long finish of warm, honeyed spice.
