This is an 18 year old Speyside single malt from Aberlour, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is double cask matured, using two kinds of oak.
American oak casks that previously held bourbon are combined with Spanish oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry. Oloroso is a dark, nutty fortified wine, and the sherry casks are said to add sweet notes of dried fruit, caramel, plums and cherries, along with a further layer of complexity.
