This is an 18 year old single malt from Aberlour in Speyside, in a 50cl bottle at 43% ABV. The distillery's name is printed on the label alongside the date 1879.
The whisky has matured in both sherry and bourbon casks, and the sherry influence is the clearer of the two in the glass.
The flavour is led by chocolate and red fruit, with a gentle spiciness running through it.
