This is an 8 year old Ardmore, distilled in 2016 and bottled by Adelphi at 59.7% from a single refill Oloroso sherry butt, number 1052. The cask produced 632 bottles, and this one is 70cl. The whisky has a bright satsuma orange colour and a smoky profile.
The nose is led by smoked haddock and hickory embers, with cut grass, warm cinnamon, damp canvas, salted cashews and a floral touch of dandelion. The palate is rich and savoury, with raw scallop, gochujang, teriyaki beef jerky, candied lemon and spicy chorizo. The finish is bold and lasting, with barbecue smoke and salty spice.
