This is Batch 2 of Adelphi's Caol Ila 10 Year Old, an Islay single malt distilled at Caol Ila near Port Askaig and bottled by Adelphi in 2026 at 46%.
It was matured in second-fill bourbon casks, several of which were vatted together for the batch. Peat, citrus and salt are what come through.
The nose is smoky and maritime, with peat smoke, sea air, lemon and citrus zest, and a touch of vanilla and malt. The palate is ashy and salty, with peat, mineral notes, citrus and malt, lifted by a light peppery edge. The finish is fresh and smoky, with ash, lemon, salt and a lingering malty sweetness.
