This is a ten-year-old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled by Claxton's from a single Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead. It was distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2026 at a cask strength of 55.7%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
The sherry cask meets a strongly smoky Islay style, and the whisky is described as smoky, fruity and spicy. Raisins and plums mark the nose, with maritime hints and peat smoke. Dark chocolate and cocoa lead the palate, alongside spicy oak and earthy smoke. The long finish keeps dry oak spice and a pronounced sherry sweetness.
