This is a Speyside single malt distilled at Mortlach in 1987 and selected for independent bottling by Adelphi. It matured for 38 years in a single refill bourbon hogshead and was bottled in 2025 at a natural cask strength of 45.9% ABV. The 188 bottles are natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The long maturation brings layers of mature fruit, caramel, waxy citrus, malt and a savoury herbal complexity.
The nose shows dried fruits, caramel and ripe pineapple with buttery malt and waxed lemon. The palate is rich and weighty, with caramelised fruit and citrus oils, and the finish is long, with waxy citrus, oak and charred sage.
