Adnams – Rye Malt English Whisky (70cl)

This is an English rye malt whisky from Adnams, in a 70cl bottle. The mash bill is 25% East Anglian malted barley and 75% rye, grown on the Adnams family farm in Reydon. It has been matured in new French oak for at least five years. The spirit won Best English Rye at the World Whiskies Awards in 2024, having taken the same title in 2021 and 2022. On the nose there are Christmas cake spices and candied fruit, marzipan, vanilla, chocolate and black peppercorns. The palate brings spicy rye bread, raisin fudge, honey and hedgerow fruit, and the finish is long, with pepper, coffee and honeyed sweetness.
