Akashi White Oak Single Malt Cognac Cask is a five-year-old Japanese single malt in a 50cl bottle, bottled at 50% ABV. It was distilled by Eigashima Shuzo, a maker of sake and shochu, and spent five years in ex-Cognac casks.
The nose has apricot, cedarwood and warm caramel. The palate is creamy and rich, with stone fruit, spiced honey and gentle oak. The finish is long, with grapes, citrus zest and lingering warmth.
