This is a 3 year old single malt from Akkeshi, a young distillery on Hokkaido in Japan. It was distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2025 by Adelphi from a single first fill bourbon cask, #1004, giving 265 bottles at 57.7%.
The profile is strongly iodine-like and green, with saline freshness alongside marine and fruity notes. The nose offers tobacco leaf, sea breeze, scallop, lychee, physalis, kumquat, orange blossom and freshly cut grass. The palate brings Fisherman's Friend lozenges, blocks of salt, fine ash and a metallic edge. The finish is lively and lasting.
