Akkeshi – Daikan Blended Whisky

Akkeshi Daikan is a blended whisky from the Akkeshi distillery on the island of Hokkaido, and the distillery's sixth release. It combines Akkeshi single malts matured in Quercus serrata oak, sherry, bourbon and wine barrels with imported grain whisky, which adds weight. The nose is typically described as sweet oranges and strawberries balanced by bitter lemon. On the palate come milk chocolate, more citrus and a touch of sea salt, and the finish holds creamy cocoa with gentle pepper spice.
