Akkeshi – Peated Boshu (70cl, 55%)

Akkeshi Peated Boshu is a heavily peated Japanese single malt, bottled officially at 55% in a 70cl bottle and supplied in a case. The release is limited to 9,000 bottles. It is the third whisky in the 24 Solar Term series, which draws on the old Asian calendar that divides the year into 24 solar seasons. Boshu is the season for sowing grain, when plums turn from blue to yellow, the local shrike begins to sing and fireflies start to appear. The label shows fireflies dancing in flight. Akkeshi whisky is known for its sweetness and a distinctive fruity taste.
