This is Akkeshi Risshun, a 2024 single malt from Akkeshi in Japan. The name comes from the Japanese term for the first day of spring and the start of new beginnings. The nose has cherry blossom and citrus, with hints of vanilla and oak. On the palate ripe fruit sweetness sits alongside gentle spice, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.
